Our service is supporting a 44-year-old Aboriginal woman with mental illness. She has experienced long term homelessness and has finally been afforded the opportunity to have her own transitional apartment and build up her independent living skills. We have supported her to get a small about of basic furniture, but she requires a donation so that she can purchase a washing machine. This is important for her, as she has been street homeless, has had bags of stolen clothing off the street, and rarely has had the opportunity to wash and keep her own clothes.
