Electric Scooter

This young person has grown up impacted by domestic and family violence, intergenerational trauma, financial hardship, risk of homelessness, completed suicide of a close person, and substance misuse. As a result, this young person missed a year of schooling. They then re-engaged at school where they built up their connections, community, and belonging, and filled in their education gaps. This young person saved for over a year to purchase their own secondhand electrical scooter to be able to travel to school. Someone then destroyed this scooter, and the family have no income to replace it. The family also have no consistent mode of transport and public transport is inaccessible. This has meant the student has now missed a whole term of school and end of year celebration, leaving them feeling disconnected and greatly impacting their wellbeing. A scooter will greatly benefit this student to re-engage school, continue their education, access support, and reconnect with their community.
