This young person has grown up impacted by domestic and family violence, intergenerational trauma, and financial hardship. As a result, this young person missed a year of schooling. This young person saved for over a year to purchase their own secondhand electrical scooter to be able to travel to school where they built up their community, belonging, and education.
Someone has since written off this scooter, and the family have no income to replace it. The family have no consistent mode of transport and public transport is inaccessible. The student has now missed another whole term of school and end of year celebration, leaving them disconnected and greatly impacting their wellbeing.
Another electric scooter will greatly benefit this student to re-engage school, continue their education, access support, and reconnect with their community.
