In addition to the challenges of navigating complex trauma and developmental needs, this young mum has experienced domestic and family violence, leaving them in a very vulnerable position with no extended family to turn to for help. Every day is a struggle to meet basic needs, access appropriate care, and create a safe, stable environment. The parent is trying their very best, but the burden is immense with limited support. She has limited skills and the child is on a very limited timetable at school due to the extreme behavioural and complex needs meaning mum cannot work.
