43yo courageous woman with a baby has fled a dangerous and abusive relationship. She endured marital rape, physical violence, emotional abuse, and coercive control. Her partner used threats to cancel her visa as a means of control. Fearing for her and her daughter’s safety, she left and has been living in a women’s refuge since February. Despite trauma, she is taking brave steps toward recovery. With caseworker support, she’s applying for a visa independent of her ex-partner to stay safely in Australia. She is receiving mental health counselling and plans to take English and driving lessons to regain independence. Support for this brave mother would be deeply appreciated.
