Air Fryer

Deakin ACT 2600

Due to the quantity of people being supported an XXL air fryer will allow for enough food for communal dinners. Smaller air fryers would create tension and challenges cooking. The ideal air fryer would be a ninja XXL air fryer that retails for $500 to enable flexible cooking and provide enough food

Recipient story

Air fryer to encourage healthy eating and develop confidence and cooking skills for people in crisis accommodation
GIVIT
First Nations Support
Domestic & Family Violence
This crisis accommodation supports people who are experiencing homelessness. It offers accommodation so that they aren't sleeping rough but also supports them in securing long-term permanent accommodation. They are supported in a holistic approach that tries to connect them with the needed services relating to things such as addiction or mental health support. This crisis accommodation provides connections and security. It is a community where the residents support each other. Part of this experience is cooking together and with staff. Residents have expressed goals of eating healthier and building their cooking skills. A way to support and encourage this is by helping them cook with an XXL air fryer to build their confidence in cooking, as well as improve their physical health. This will improve the quality of services the people receive and allow the residents to continue to share meals and cook together, as well as improve their living skills for when they're living independently.
