Our service is supporting an Aboriginal grandmother who is caring for seven grandchildren. She has taken care of three young grandchildren at short notice as her daughter is currently unable to care. This has significantly increased her care load and she does not receive any additional financial assistance.
Two of the children in the home live with disability and have additional care needs - including developmental delay and a rare genetic disorder.
