Our centre is a new specialised mental health service for acute treatment for people with severe mental illness and high needs with aims to service 86 people at any given time. As a key part of recovery, consumers participate in a range of health promoting groups. The hospital has multiple areas for activity such as skill building kitchens and fitness zones and we are looking to be able to equip and maintain these areas. Donations would support allied health in facilitating therapeutic groups like art and cooking, which are important aspect of the recovery process for our consumers. The therapeutic group program we run supports activity engagement, promotes social connections and aims to reduce restrictive practices used on the ward.
