At 91, a kind and resilient woman is facing overwhelming challenges. Damage to her gutters and downpipes means every heavy rain brings flooding to her home. Though assessed for a government grant, she was deemed ineligible because she has insurance — yet the $5,000 excess is far beyond what she can afford on a pension. Promised repair support has fallen through, leaving her vulnerable and without solutions. On top of this, she is visually impaired and depends on a close friend and advocate to help manage her daily needs. Despite these struggles, she wishes only to remain safe and independent in the home she loves. A little support would make an enormous difference, helping ease her financial burden and giving her peace of mind in her later years.
