Vacuum Cleaner

First Nations mother is raising her son in the community she grew up in but had to isolate due to the toxicity from her immediate family and the father of her child who has continually attempted to disrupt their safety and stability. Mum has raised her son in a purposeful attempt to learn from own traumatic childhood and trying to meet his needs especially as he is diagnosed with ASD and will be transitioning to kindergarten next year. Mum grew up with an appetite for knowledge which was suppressed by her own mother and something she was often ostracised for by her family. Against many odds including socioeconomic disadvantage and single parenting she continued to pursue her passion for law. Starting as an intern for Legal Aid at TAFE she has now completed her first year of a Juris Doctor at Macquarie University. She keeps pride in cleanliness especially as her son is sensitive to dust and recently had her vacuum break down and is unable to afford a new one.
