She is a DV survivor, receiving Centrelink payments, with two dependent children and ongoing safety concerns
She is a survivor of DV who continues to face significant safety concerns, as her former partner has repeatedly located her despite an expired protection order. She is the sole carer for two young children, one with developmental delays requiring ongoing therapy and specialist support. She currently lives in a private rental under the NSW Rent Choice program; however, this assistance is time-limited and will cease if she relocates to the ACT. Moving to Canberra is critical for her safety and stability, as remaining in her current location increases the risk of further harm. Her housing options are extremely limited due to her low income, she relies solely on Centrelink payments of approximately $1,000 per week, with no child support, and faces rising childcare costs and an outstanding personal loan. Despite these challenges, she is actively engaging with multiple support services and planning to commence part-time nursing studies to improve her future prospects.
