Recipient story

Young family, struggling to make ends meet - 3 children under 3 including 5 month old baby
Domestic & Family Violence
GIVIT
Ready to Learn
Young family have lived a transient lifestyle for a long time. Have relocated from NSW to VIC. They have started linking in with services and accessing supports, multiple needs to be addressed for the whole family. Currently looking at training courses and ways to make a better life for themselves and their children. Abstaining from AOD use, accessing therapy and counselling to assist with processing past trauma. All of this has required many adjustments. The 2 older children are currently accessing childcare 3-5 days per week, and settling into this reasonably well. The youngest is set to start childcare next week. There are many medical appointments and assessments for the children to be completed and in progress.

This young family are struggling to make ends meet - they need some basic necessities for the children and household

Any support would be greatly appreciated, and they would like to extend a heartfelt thanks in advance for any assistance provided.

How it's helped before

[We assisted] a woman who had four children in primary school this year, she shared that she was worried about ensuring they all had what they needed and felt equally included, so the [GIVIT donations] really helped to lift that concern. Some women brought their children with them [to collect donations] and faces just lit up as they chose their lunchboxes and backpacks and packed their pencil cases.
