54-year-old widow who was significantly impacted by a recent storm and is now trying to recover while facing multiple challenges. Living alone with several chronic medical conditions and under ongoing psychiatric care, she is currently on the Disability Support Pension.The storm caused a large tree to crash onto her home, severely damaging the roof and destroying most of her furniture and household contents. With no insurance coverage, the client was forced to borrow money and use her limited income totalling around $4,500 to address the urgent damage. In addition to these difficulties, the client’s Centrelink account was recently hacked, delaying her income. Ongoing direct debit payments for debts are making it nearly impossible for her to afford even basic needs.She is currently in NSW caring for her elderly grandmother her only family support while needing to travel back to Victoria for a pending court matter. Any assistance would be deeply appreciated as client is stressed.
