This young family is working tirelessly to keep a roof over their three children’s heads, but they are at breaking point. Their home was inherited following the heartbreaking loss of a beloved grandmother after a 20-year battle with dementia — and along with it, an unexpected mortgage and a house full of memories and grief.

The house, built in the 1800s, is severely dilapidated and had not been maintained for many years. Dad completes all repairs himself around work commitments and while managing a back injury, only when funds allow. The home is barely liveable and currently unsellable.

In 2022, devastating flooding caused further damage to a property that had never flooded in over 150 years. Without insurance, cracks are worsening, walls are sinking, floor boards are rotting and rooms are now visibly misaligned. Urgent support is needed to get this family back on their feet.
