Help Us Create a Special First Christmas for a Mum and Her Son
I’m a Team Leader with a homelessness service in Fremantle, and we’ve been working with an incredible single mum and her 10-year-old son who have been homeless for the past three years camping in the bush and couch surfing wherever they could.
This mum has done everything possible to keep her little boy safe, make sure he gets to school, and stays connected with his friends. Her strength and love have been nothing short of inspiring.
Now, after three long years, they’ve finally been housed and will be moving into their very own home this week, just in time for Christmas.
Sadly, there is a heartbreaking part to their story. This mum was diagnosed with a severe form of women’s cancer on October 16th She’s spent so long putting her son first that she forgot to look after her own health.
We would love to make this their most special Christmas ever their first Christmas in a home of their own.
