A young single mother made one of life's hardest decisions - leaving her kinship family in north western Queensland to be closer to medical services for her baby boy, just months old, who was born with serious renal system concerns.
Through our Long Term Community Housing Program, she secured housing and settled into their new home. However, as temperatures soar, a critical need has emerged. Her baby needs air conditioning in the bedroom to sleep safely, especially given his vulnerable medical condition.
This devoted mother has already saved and purchased a box air conditioning unit herself. What she needs now is help with professional installation, quoted at just over $700. She can cover some costs but faces a shortfall causing anxiety as temperatures climb and her baby's comfort cannot wait.
