This request is to assist an NDIS participant who has experienced unexpected financial hardship due to professional psychological report fees. The participant engaged a registered psychologist to complete a psychological assessment report and paid over $400 for this service. Following receipt of the report, minor amendments were requested to ensure the information accurately reflected the participant’s circumstances and support needs. The amended report was provided; however, an additional invoice of $480 was issued for these changes. This cost was not discussed or disclosed prior to the amendments being completed, leaving the participant unprepared for the additional expense. The participant is currently experiencing significant financial stress and is unable to absorb this unexpected cost. The psychological report is important for accessing appropriate supports and services, and the outstanding fee is causing additional distress. Financial assistance would greatly support the participant to resolve this invoice and reduce stress during an already challenging period.
