A chronic health condition, compounded by a recent infection, has resulted in financial hardship for this family of three. A single parent to children aged 9 and 11 illness has resulted in the loss of one job and the exhaustion of all leave entitlements for the second. Both jobs were needed to cover living expenses.
The loss of financial stability threatens access to adequate food, secure tenancy, and consistent healthcare. The children attend school with limited access to excursions or extra-curricular activities. The approaching school holidays and Christmas look stark.
Recovery and improved health require nourishment of the body and spirit.
