Help support a 12 year old First Nations Pintupi girl return to Country and connect with language and culture
When a child has been removed from her family, and is far from her Country, and want's to reconnect with their culture, there are many barriers. This 12 year old is now just reconnecting with her blood family in the NT, but has to find the support and resources to travel from NSW. her mother is a single Aboriginal mum with three foster kids, the younger two boys with special needs, and the foster care agency provide very little support for cultural re-unification. The whole extended family are doing everything they can to help her return to County every two years through high school for two weeks of the school holidays, and then maintain digital connection with family member she reconnects with in between. She is learning her language slowly, but struggles without native speakers around her, so being connected is vital for both cultural, family, kin and langauge support
