Far North Queensland Flooding 2023

The client has been homeless and living in his car for several years that this organisation is aware of. He was living in his car in remote Far North Qld during Cyclone Jasper and the subsequent floods in late 2023. This event was traumatic for him. He has struggled to secure ongoing employment and has found it impossible to find affordable housing for himself and his dog in the current housing crisis.
He is a quiet man who leads a fairly solitary existence. He is seeking affordable housing through local organisations but it could be a long time (if ever) before those efforts come to fruition. We are requesting some items which may make his current situation a little more comfortable in our intense tropical climate. These include a 12 volt fridge, fans, solar panel and battery so he can keep food cool and can be cooler overnight himself.
