Creating Stability for a Mother and Her Young Child
The client has recently moved into transitional housing after years of instability. This is the first time she and her daughter have had a space of their own, and she is working hard to create a safe, calm, and welcoming environment for her child. After spending long periods in crisis accommodation, refuges, and temporary stays with family, the client is starting from very little. She has limited household items and is finding it difficult to afford the essentials needed to set up a functional home. As a single Indigenous mother who has experienced significant family and domestic violence, this support is especially important for her wellbeing and her daughter’s sense of security. To help the family settle into their new space, the client is seeking assistance with essential items such as food, cleaning supplies, and basic household goods. Access to vouchers would allow her to purchase groceries, hygiene products, and small items that help make the home feel warm.
