The Cassowary Coast Family Outreach team walks alongside vulnerable families all year round during some of the most challenging moments of their lives - providing hope and support when it's needed the most. Christmas time brings additional worries when living in poverty, families experiencing homelessness and/or Domestic Violence. The Outreach Team are calling for donations to create Christmas Hampers to take the pressure off families.
Local businesses have donated festive food items for the Christmas Hampers. Family Case Managers have discussed with families what their needs and wants for this time of the year, which informs this request.
Vouchers provide an opportunity for families to choose their own gifts for children and loved ones. The families that we work with come from different backgrounds and diverse goals so including a range of different vouchers assists in empowering our families with dignity and choice.
