This family has rented their home in Koolewong for over nine years and had no time to think about their personal belongings. They had to run for their lives and get to safety the day of the fires. The Koolewong bush fire happened so quickly and this family of three are grateful to be alive. They have been forced to start over, right before Christmas.
It is a couple with a teenage son who has just graduated high school, he is currently trying to get a part-time job while he prepares to study at TAFE next year. The family have been living in temporary accommodation and have no cooking facilities, they are spending a large portion of their income on take away food.
They need help with the extra costs of living in a hotel, while they look for a private rental property. They are in need of new clothing and shoes. Help with the costs of fuel will also help immensely as they need to be doing extra driving, while they look for a new rental property to call home.
