Recipient story

Family with complex mental health needs, intellectual disability and neurodiversity - pet cats offer emotional regulation
GIVIT
This elderly grandmother lives with her two adult children and two adult grandsons in a small-town house in Perth. She supports her children and grandchildren though a variety complex mental health needs, intellectual disability and neurodiversity. It is a busy household, and she is seeking calm, consistency and routine in her life.

Of importance to the entire family are their two pet cats. They offer love, affection and emotional regulation to many members of the household. Recently the family have set a goal of de-cluttering and creating an organised space in their lounge room. A big motivation for this is giving the cats adequate space and stimulation inside. They would like to install a multi-story cat scratching post and have some toys that the cats can play with. To date, the family have been progressing well with their decluttering.

We are looking for the support and kindness of individuals to support this family in achieving their goal of installing a cat scratch post
