An 81-year-old male recently relocated to a new Department of Housing unit after leaving his children's home where he experienced elder abuse. He currently lives alone with his dog and manages his daily activities independently. Recently, he sustained fractures to his left ulna and radius following a fall and is wearing a cast, which limits his ability to manage some tasks.
At present, he does not have a refrigerator and is using a small camping cooler to store food, which limits his ability to maintain food safety and nutrition. He receives the aged pension and has limited financial capacity to purchase a fridge. Provision of a fridge would support his independence and improve his living conditions.
