Client Background:
A 49-year-old male, originally from Sudan, arrived in Australia with his wife approximately 15 years ago. The couple were accommodated in social housing and went on to have five children. Unfortunately, the relationship has since broken down, and the client chose to exit the tenancy, transferring the social housing to his former partner and children.
Current Situation:
For the past several months, the client has been sleeping rough in Brisbane’s CBD while actively seeking new accommodation. Despite his efforts, the rising cost of living has made it extremely challenging to secure housing on a single income.
The client recently presented at our organisation, where we were able to arrange a room in shared accommodation to help him get back on his feet. He has been left with no personal possessions and is having to start over from scratch.
We are seeking assistance with basic kitchenware (so he does not need to rely on other residents’ items) and a TV
