The health of the family of 4 at risk - Mum with 2 adult children and one younger child are struggling with the aftermath of the flooding with mould and a dodgy ceiling.
Mum has just had surgery for respiratory issues 3 months ago - and had to quit work to recover properly. She is the carer for her adult son with an intellectual disability.
The home they are in is unsafe but they are unable to move to affordable althernative due to the current shortage of housing so are making do in the current situation. Mum was so dissappointed in herself having to ask for assistance after being used to working and supporting herself and family.
Mum is seeking counselling through the disaster recovery lifeline team and doing everything to keep her head above water in her current circumstances.
An approval for the family to move into new home has come through from Dept of Housing, however, the family still wait for a house to be available.
