Support Needed for a Newly Resettled Refugee Family in Canberra

A family who fled the hardships of Syria has finally found safety and stability in Canberra. After years of uncertainty, they received the keys to their new Housing ACT home today—a moment filled with relief, gratitude, and hope.
The household is large and full of life: two grandparents, their son and daughter‑in‑law, and three young children aged 8, 11, and 14, along with a little grandchild who brings joy to everyone. Despite the challenges they’ve faced, their home is warm with kindness, respect, and deep family connection.
The father of the household lives with limited financial means, and his son is his full‑time carer, supporting him with patience and love. As they settle into their new home, they are in need of a washing machine and a dishwasher—basic appliances that would make daily life far more manageable for a family of eight.
They are a gentle, resilient, and beautiful family, grateful for every bit of support as they begin this new chapter in safety and dignity.
