59 year old woman is facing severe financial hardship and exploitation. She receives JobSeeker payments from Centrelink but is being taken advantage of by her landlord, who requires her to work over 70 hours per week in exchange for rent, effectively paying her around $13 an hour, while charging nearly $1,000 a week for accommodation. She has a history of domestic violence, and the pressure of her current circumstances has further impacted her mental health. She recently presented to hospital with depression and anxiety. Having also experienced homelessness in the past and without any family support, she is extremely vulnerable.
Despite these challenges, she is determined to improve her situation and find stable work. She urgently needs safe accommodation to leave her current environment. She also requires support with essentials such as food and clothing. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
