This young person has faced immense challenges, including family violence, unstable housing, and periods of homelessness, all while taking responsibility for their own mental health recovery. Despite these hardships, they have remained resilient and driven, nurturing a deep passion for music. Their dream is to turn this passion into a career, teaching and performing, while also creating a safe space for at-risk youth to meet, jam, and form bands -a space they wish had existed for them. Having their own drum kit is more than a tool; it’s a lifeline, a way to practice, grow, and one day earn a living doing what they love. Music is not just a career ambition - it is a critical part of their mental health recovery, giving them hope, focus, and a sense of belonging. Supporting this young person means more than funding an instrument; it’s investing in their safety, confidence, and the future they are determined to build.
