This person has changed their life. Living with mental illness, trauma, physical disabilities and caring for her child as a sing parent has been immensely challenging. This person has made so much progress in their life, engaging with supports to improve their mental health and move toward the life they are wanting.
Much of this has been due to the addition of a dog, who will be trained as a psychiatric assistance dog. This person has saved all they could to pay for the dog, its food, veterinary care and training. The last step in this process is the application fee for the training program, which they need to come up with in a short amount of time. The dog has enabled this person to get out of their house, improve their mental health, help with isolation and do many other things.
