Two refugee sisters, aged 14 and 12, recently arrived in Melbourne in October 2025 on a 200 humanitarian visa, are seeking support to obtain tablets to assist with their studies and future goals. These sisters, originally from Afghanistan, have faced significant disruption to their education since the Taliban’s takeover in 2021. While living in Iran and India, they were largely dependent on their father for education, as formal schooling opportunities were limited.
Now enrolled in an English Language School, the sisters are eager to improve their language skills and expand their knowledge. Access to tablets would not only help them with their English learning but also provide essential internet connectivity. These tools would support their academic progress and allow them to pursue their future aspirations. Sister A dreams of becoming an engineer, while Sister B is passionate about fashion design and hopes to enhance her drawing skills. Supported, they can start achieving their dreams
