My client, who is being supported for homelessness, seeks to place her 12 year old child into high school. Due to their difficulties with their housing situation, her son has not attended school this year. The child identifies as Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander, as his family is from Cairns, QLD. We have helped him enroll into high school within the catchment, but enrolment requires both a sport and formal uniform and it is an iPad mandated school.
Both uniforms cost $320.15; the cheapest iPad that would meet school regulations and would be bought through the JB Hi-Fi school program is $555.00. Term 3 started last week, so any immediate assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information regarding this.
