Baby born with a disability
Christmas 2025
GIVIT
Born premature in June and was an inpatient at the children's hospital NICU for several months. Born with a life limiting cardiac condition along with a rare genetic condition. She was discharged home under palliative care but has remained stable in the community. She was re-admitted to the hospital again last week due to complications but has been able to come home for Christmas. She has a younger brother aged 4. Mum and dad are still coming to terms with the prognosis and have been unable to work due to the care she requires, coupled with ongoing hospital admissions and trying to care for their 4-year-old. The family are under a lot of stress both emotionally and financially and have no family support in the town they live in. The family have been unable to think about Christmas but are trying to make it a special time for their kids.
