Air Conditioner - Split System

Springwood QLD 4127

An air-conditioning system suitable for cooling a small bedroom is required to maintain a stable temperature due to the child’s heat-triggered medical episodes. The occupational therapist has recommended a wall-mounted split system as the most appropriate option because the room layout does not allow enough space for a portable unit to ventilate safely. A wall-cassette system would also be suitable if it is more cost-effective to supply and install. If a split or cassette system cannot be sourced, a window-mounted cooling unit would also meet the child’s medical needs, provided it can effectively cool the room. Recipient story

A young child with severe neurological challenges struggled to stay safe as heat triggers life-threatening medical episodes.
Christmas 2025
GIVIT
A young child is facing complex medical, neurological, and emotional challenges after fleeing traumatic events. He experiences Functional Neurological Disorder and seizures that are easily triggered by stressors, especially heat, and these episodes often require urgent medical attention. His mother, who lives with a physical disability and a single mother, is his sole carer and is unable to work, placing the family in extreme financial hardship.

The child’s condition requires constant monitoring, intensive therapy, and a stable environment to prevent deterioration. Heat significantly worsens his symptoms, increasing the likelihood of seizures, exhaustion, and distress. Maintaining a cool and consistent home environment is essential for his health and safety. Despite their best efforts, his mother cannot provide this on her limited means. Supporting this family will directly help protect the child’s wellbeing and reduce the risk of further medical crises.
