Year 11 student lives in the front yard of her mother's house in a caravan
GIVIT
Student lives with her mother and younger siblings 14 and 15 years of age. She is 17. Repeating Year 11 as last year she left school to work to help support the family.
Mother is an amputee and wheelchair bound. Mother is on dialysis for kidney failure. The student takes care of mum and supports her to get ready for her dialysis etc. She is responsible for most of the household chores.
Student is unable to live with her father due to overcrowding and the need of her mother. This means that she has to live in a caravan in the front yard as there is not sufficient room in the house for her. When it is cold, she has to sleep on the couch in the lounge room as it is too costly for the family to run a heater in the caravan. Student has anxiety/depression.
Student aspires to complete Year 12 in 2026 and then complete a Diploma of Community Services with a view to completing Social Work at University.
