Many students, particularly those who are neurodiverse, find the busy playground a challenging and overwhelming place to navigate. A Chess Club would offer a calm, welcoming environment where they can connect with others, build confidence, and celebrate their strengths through strategic play.
As a public school with funding already stretched, we currently don’t have the chess sets or resources to get this initiative started. However, our students have shown strong interest, and we’ve seen how successful and inclusive Chess Clubs have been in other schools. With your support, we can create a safe, inclusive space that encourages friendship, focus, and belonging for all students.
