A mum from regional Western Australia has had to relocate to Perth to support her teenage son, who has been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive cancer. He recently underwent a major operation involving the removal of a large tumour and one lung. He has started chemotherapy, and the family is making trips between their regional home and Perth so he can continue receiving specialist care.
They are still responsible for a high weekly rent back home, creating further financial strain and limiting their ability to access groceries and essentials. Although hospital accommodation has been arranged, the day-to-day living costs combined with the emotional toll of caring for an extremely unwell child have become overwhelming.
This support would offer much needed relief during a highly emotional and financially difficult time. It would help ensure the family can meet their basic needs while the mum continues caring for her seriously ill son. A grocery voucher would make a difference.
