Resident lives in her rental home with 11-year-old daughter, and was impacted by the February 13th, 2024, storm event and subsequent power outage. Resident receives a disability pension and experiences significant and chronic financial hardship. Resident' daughter has outgrown most of her clothing and the resident cannot afford replacement items. She experiences significant stress due to this. The resident has ongoing health conditions and infections which require multiple appointments to specialists, rheumatology, respiratory, gastroenterology, allergen immune deficiency. Many of these services accrue gap fees and the resident is unable to afford vital medications and dietary supplements which are critical for managing symptoms. Pharmacy and food vouchers would greatly alleviate financial distress, anxiety and promote physical recovery.
