Young couple in their late twenties who were discovered squatting in a property. The couple have never been able to secure safe, affordable accommodation. As long-term rough sleepers they have experienced physical assault, the theft of medications and a decline in physical and mental health. One of couple has a NDIS support plan in place however has been unable to access support due to not having any stable accommodation. The couple were supported to register for housing and have now been offered an accommodation opportunity. The couple have been linked with a support service to assist them to ensure their tenancy will be successful. The couple has nil furniture or household items. We have been able to secure some small kitchen items such as a kettle, toaster, cups. This is a wonderful opportunity for them both and we would like to set them up for ongoing success. They each have goals of gaining paid employment once settled.
