Recipient story

48 year old refugee woman experiencing homelessness, social isolation & financial distress
Domestic & Family Violence
GIVIT
48 year old single mother, but her children are living in Papua New Guinea. She fled from domestic violence in PNG as a refugee and speaks limited English. She is currently staying at a shelter but is on the waiting list for a home of her own. She has no family or friends living in Brisbane and she is experiencing social isolation and struggling mentally from this. She is a lovely lady and deserves to feel loved and protected, and we would like the opportunity to make her feel this way, to help her in her journey to a better life. Any support offered would be greatly appreciated.

How it's helped before

I am writing to personally thank 'GIVIT' for a generous 'Simply Groceries eGift card' voucher that I was gifted, with $100 worth of essential spending money for my family & I to utilise at our own discretion. I can happily report this donation has assisted the purchase of a basic, solo, wifi security camera, with the excess going toward food for my teenage daughter who is currently taken on responsibilities around our home while I recover in a rehabilitation centre. Thank you for this kind gesture, as it has helped to improve security measures around our home & support my daughter to purchase daily essential items such as groceries, basic hygiene & cleaning products.

Thank you for your generous gesture & much needed support GIVIT.
