Recipient story

A family is struggling after storms destroyed their children’s play area, leaving them with hardship just before Christmas.

Christmas 2025
A family living in Aboriginal social housing has been significantly impacted by recent severe storms. A large gumtree was lifted from the ground and crashed into their yard, destroying the children’s play area, including their trampoline and swingset.

The family is experiencing financial hardship and does not have contents insurance. With Christmas approaching, they are unable to replace what was lost during an already difficult time of year.

Their children and grandchildren no longer have a safe outdoor space to play, and the sudden loss has added stress to a household that is already doing its best to get by.

Any support toward rebuilding a sense of normalcy and joy for this family would make a meaningful difference during a tough period.
