47-year-old woman, who moved from New Zealand to Australia 26 years ago and is currently waiting on her citizenship to be approved. She has a 9-year-old son. During Cyclone Alfred, a large majority of her house and possessions were destroyed. She has escaped domestic violence and is currently staying in emergency accommodation. As she is not a citizen, she is ineligible to receive Centrelink payments and housing assistance. She is currently unemployed but is studying a traineeship to become a barista. She intends to apply for housing support and Centrelink payments as soon as she is able to attend her citizenship ceremony.
