Food assistance required for victim-survivor of financial abuse. This individual is an asylum seeker from Sri Lanka & not receiving Centrelink help. She was previously living with her ex- partner & endured severe financial abuse, with much of her hard earnt money being used for alcohol and his own expenses.
She now left the situation, however, due to the financial abuse, has fallen in debt due to rental arrears & other loans. She faces additional challenges due to her low mobility due to knee problems that she is awaiting surgery for. As such, this individual struggles to transport herself to local food assistance programs.
Supermarket vouchers that she can use to have groceries delivered to her door would be extremely helpful during this transition and as she engages with financial services to manage her debts.
