I have 2 separate families I am supporting. Both young mothers who have experienced significant trauma, however, are doing everything they can to rebuild their lives and their children's lives since being reunited with them. The children were previously in care for some time and have been eagerly waiting to be returned to their mothers.
This year, both mothers have expressed their dreams of taking their children to the Ekka for the first time — to see the animals, enjoy the rides, share fairy floss, and create a day of happiness they’ll always remember. It’s more than just a fun day out; it’s a symbol of how far they’ve come together. Every small bit of support makes a big difference.
