Prisoners Aid ACT is calling for urgent donations of new underwear, socks, singlets, and bras to support detainees in the ACT. Many individuals in custody both women and men, are not being provided with enough basic clothing to stay warm and comfortable during winter. With limited access to essential items like clean underwear and warm layers, detainees often face harsh conditions that can severely affect their dignity and wellbeing. Your donation can help restore a sense of humanity and show that they are not forgotten. We’re seeking community support to collect new clothing items in all adult sizes. These donations will be distributed directly to those in need through our court-based services and visitor support programs. If you’re able to contribute, please get in touch. Together, we can provide warmth, comfort, and hope to those doing it tough this winter.

Our organisation is preparing for our annual Christmas hamper packing day, bringing warmth, dignity, and hope to people impacted by the justice system. This year, we aim to pack 200 hampers for families, 100 for women, 100 for men, 100 for children, and 50 for pets. We're also urgently seeking new underwear, socks, singlets, and bras, as many detainees in the ACT aren’t given enough basic clothing to stay warm and comfortable.

We also seek regular donations throughout the year to provide detainees with essential items to carry out their sentence with dignity, items like toiletries, stationery, and warm clothing.

All Christmas donations must be received by the week of December 1, 2025. Every contribution brings comfort, connection, and compassion to those often forgotten. Help us show them they’re not alone.
