Recipient story

When technology moves too fast, people can feel left behind. Our program helps restore connection and confiden
GIVIT
For many older people, everyday life has quietly become harder. A phone update changes the screen. A letter says “go online.” Family and friends communicate through apps they don’t understand. What once felt manageable now feels confusing and isolating, and asking for help can feel embarrassing.

Without support, small tech challenges quickly become barriers to staying connected, independent, and informed. People miss appointments, avoid services, or withdraw socially simply because the digital world feels too fast and unforgiving.

Our program exists to change that experience. It offers calm, one-on-one support where people can ask questions without judgement and learn at their own pace. By also training community members to become digital mentors, it creates ongoing, local support and shared understanding. The result is more than digital skills — it’s renewed confidence, restored connection, and a stronger sense of belonging in a world that no longer feels quite so out of reach.
