This older adult is currently experiencing social isolation and declining health due to living in a severely mould-damaged property. This older adult was previously forced to flee their family and supports to to domestic violence resulting in homelessness until finally entering social housing.
Due to structural concerns of the property there has been extensive, unresolved water damage from both QLD 2022 floods and 2025 cyclone Alfred. Unfortunately, the housing company have been avoidant of all complaints. Mould has now spread throughout the home and as a result caused damage to the persons lungs. In addition, these conditions have negatively impacted their mental health as they have now become isolated from family and their community.
