Recipient story

Young mum with 8-month-old baby, trying to build a better life for herself and her little family.
GIVIT
Domestic & Family Violence
Young mum has moved back in with her parents and siblings after experiencing significant traumatic event. Has lived a transient lifestyle, is on the waitlist for housing. Father of her baby chose not to be involved, leaving her to raise her son on her own. Despite the challenges she faces, she remains incredibly focused and driven. Over the next 12 months, she has set realistic goals including obtaining her provisional license and completing her education. She is currently undertaking Food Safety, Barista, and RSA training to secure casual employment locally, and will soon begin General Ed to complete her HSC, then onto study Childcare in 2026. One of her biggest barriers right now is access to technology. She has been completing her assessments at the local library, but a laptop of her own would make a significant difference in her ability to study and work toward her goals. She is incredibly grateful for any kindness shown and wishes to extend her heartfelt thanks in advance.
