This refugee family has faced overwhelming challenges since arriving in Australia. The parents speak no English and have very little support, making everyday life incredibly difficult. They care for children with complex needs: their 16-year-old son has ADHD and requires constant, strong care from his father; their daughter has hearing loss and needs ongoing support; and their adult child has a disability and is unable to work despite repeated efforts to find employment.
On top of these challenges, their landlord is bullying them, threatening eviction, imposing illegal rent increases, and refusing a formal lease. This has left the family feeling unsafe, anxious, and unsure where they can turn for help.
