A young family on the Gold Coast is facing severe financial and emotional hardship. The mother recently completed her PhD and gave birth, but is currently unemployed and experiencing postnatal depression. Her partner sustained a serious workplace injury requiring multiple surgeries and is still undergoing treatment. He has returned to work in a limited capacity, but his income is not enough to support the family. Both parents are on temporary visas and socially isolated, with no support network in Australia. Their infant daughter has a medical condition requiring ongoing hospital care and surgery. The mother also has a complex health condition requiring costly treatment not covered by insurance. The family is struggling to cover rent, medical costs, and daily living expenses after unexpectedly losing a co-tenant. They are doing their best to stay afloat but urgently need support to get through this difficult time.
